For some people, learning with music and songs is really helpful, as it gives music to the words and puts them in context.
When I was a kid, for example, everyone in Israel watched the Argentinian show “Chiquititas.” It was in Spanish and included many songs. I liked watching that show, and liked reading the lyrics of the songs and translating them. I didn’t do it to learn Spanish, but as a result, I still remember many words, especially the ones I learned from these songs.
I am writing it all because, in general, listening to Israeli songs in Hebrew might be helpful (especially if you go that extra mile and also read and translate the lyrics). But also because I found today a channel on YouTube that has many songs in Hebrew, and while listening to the songs, you see a simple video with icons—which is actually really helpful for understanding them.
Recommended steps for learning:
- Listen to the song, as many times as you can, so it “sticks” to your brain
- Read the lyrics (or simply watch it with the icons)
- Try to sing along 🙂
