Useful Tools for Hebrew learners - including links

Hebrew Keyboard Stickers

Easy-to-apply stickers that add Hebrew letters to your keyboard, ideal for Hebrew learners and anyone who types in Hebrew.

These stickers cost only a few shekels/dollars on AliExpress, and I highly recommend them – they’re easy to apply and let you type in Hebrew without buying a new keyboard or relying on on-screen keyboards.

Hebrew-English Posters (1)

Colorful posters with some essential Hebrew vocabulary and English translations – days of the week, what time it is, seasons, and some motivational frases in Hebrew and English.

These posters also can be found on  AliExpress and are a simple, effective way to keep Hebrew visible in your daily environment.

Hebrew-English Posters (2)

Additional poster options with Hebrew colors, numbers, and alphabet – also available on AliExpress.

Perfect for keeping Hebrew visible in your daily life.

A workbook to learn how to write in Hebrew

I’ve met many students who can read the Hebrew print alphabet but can’t write in script. In Israel, it’s necessary to know both – many fonts use the script form, and people still actually write by hand sometimes (hard to believe, I know!), so it’s a valuable skill to have.

This book, along with others on Amazon, simply offers practice pages where you can trace the letters repeatedly until they sink in.

Hebrew Phrase Playing Cards

A creative find on Amazon: a regular deck of playing cards with common Hebrew phrases printed on them. The phrases look genuinely useful, so you can practice Hebrew while playing your favorite card games.

A fun, low-pressure way to learn – perfect for beginners or travelers looking to pick up essential phrases.

Hebrew From Scratch - עברית מן ההתחלה

The classic Ulpan textbook, עברית מן ההתחלה (Hebrew from scratch), which was used for Aleph levels at Israeli ulpanim for many years and probably is still in use (I also use it for exercises and tips with my students), can actually be found on Amazon.

It’s a great book for beginners. While it’s not new – so some of the slang is a bit dated – it covers all the essential grammar, verb forms in present and past tenses, and includes helpful drawings, interesting exercises, and reading texts. Highly recommended!
